Introduction

  • The predecessor of our department was the Department of Computer Science, established in February 1983.
  • In response to the demand for advanced manpower in the development of the information industry, our department actively recruited faculty members with expertise in electrical engineering and information engineering since 1997, in order to enhance the cultivation of students' skills in information engineering and management. We passed the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan in 2007, and then obtained the accreditation from IEET(The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan) in 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • The department's name was changed to the Department of computer science and Information Engineering in August 2011.
  • The Master's program was established in 2014.
  • Our department has developed a comprehensive curriculum plan, ranging from fundamental university courses to core courses and distinctive courses, tailored to the latest developments in information engineering technology. The course content progresses from shallow to deep, emphasizing both theory and practice. It is designed to train students in essential knowledge for working in the field of information and lay the foundation for independent thinking and advanced theoretical research.
